Our Solution

Chemsearch FE can help your facility to eliminate several common drain network problems.

Food particles decompose inside drain lines or on top of hardened grease in the interceptor, causing foul odors.

The BIO-Amp is an innovative way to maintain drain lines and eliminate foul odors while removing the need for harsh caustics, acids, and chemical flocculants by dispensing live bacteria into drain lines to digest fats, oils, and greases. The automatic dispensing also eliminates the need for direct contact between product and employees.

Excessive dumping of greasy waste in drains and sinks make fats, oils and grease (FOG) clog drain lines and interceptors. FOG in drain lines create a sticky surface for more materials to cling to.

BIO-Amp produces high levels of bacteria that reduce:

  • Fats, Oils & Grease (FOG).
  • Total Suspended Solids (TSS).
  • Slow drains, backups and overloaded grease traps, maintaining your drain systems in optimum conditions and reducing your professional maintenance expenses.

Pumping alone does not address grease buildup within drain lines.

The BIO-Amp can also reduce the need for pump outs and hydro-jetting, which saves money, water and energy.

Improper disposal of FOG may result in fines and surcharges. Local water authorities are more stringent in enforcing laws pertaining to waste emitted to municipal sewer lines.

1 Daily BIO-Amp Dose

How it Works

Click on the numbers on the picture for more detailed information.

  • 1

Each day, 32 grams of FREE-FLOW™ pellets are automatically dumped into the growth vessel

  • 2

The vessel fills with water, which begins to spin, creating a vortex

  • 3

The pellets dissolve and the bacteria spin for 24 hours, where they become active and multiply

  • 4

At the end of the 24-hour period, the entire contents of the vessel (trillions of live bacteria) are applied to your drain system and the entire process starts over again

  • 5

All of this is controlled by the computer board—the machine is completely independent and requires no action from you or your staff

Previous methods come with a variety of disadvantages

  • Hazardous to handle
  • Strong, unpleasant odors
  • Speeds up corrosion process on pipes

  • Hazardous to handle
  • Strong, unpleasant odors
  • Can damage piping

  • Not safe for use on ABS plastic
  • Forbidden by many municipalities
  • Exposure concerns; can be very costly

Liquid Biologicals (Spore)

  • Slow acting—require 4-6 hours to awaken
  • Can be deactivated by high temperatures, disinfectants
  • Old technology, newer capabilities now available

Results vary based on severity, but customers typically notice improvement within 60-90 days after installation.

The BIO-Amp generates trillions of live, beneficial vegetative bacteria on-site, every day. This patented system grows proven bacteria strains that contain no free enzymes or surfactants and dispenses them automatically, with no interaction required from you or your staff.

There are a variety of drain maintenance products available on the market. Based on scientific research, one BIO-Amp dosage contains more bacteria than 275 gallons of a leading competitor’s product. Unlike liquid spore bacteria, BIO-Amp delivers live, vegetative bacteria—ready to go to work as soon as they enter the drain system. Liquid spores generally take four to six hours to awaken. Most facilities don’t have sufficient low-flow periods, causing these products to be pushed through the drain system before they can provide any benefit. Unlike previous drain maintenance products, the BIO-Amp offers an attractive alternative to harsh chemicals by limiting safety and exposure concerns. Because the system is automated, it can be programmed to dose at optimal times and requires no manual intervention.

In the U.S. alone, there are more than 4,000 active BIO-Amp units running today. Our customer satisfaction rate is over 95% and the device was awarded the U.S. Green Building Council’s Best New Green Product.
